Q. How do I become an Incubator member?

  1. What market or business sector does your innovation address?
  2. What problem is your innovation solving?
  3. Who are your key competitors?
  4. What's your competitive advantage?
  5. What is the makeup of the founding team and the level of experience each member has relevant to the technology and the market space?

Q. How much does it cost to join the Incubator program?

We have a variety of programs and services from which to choose. Our fee-based programs typically cost a few hundred dollars a month. We also work with clients on a fixed fee project basis. Some of our clients also “pay” for our services with equity. Our goal is to provide you with the most effective program or services that match your needs and fit your budget.

 

Q. Do I have to give up a part of my company to become an Incubator member?

Absolutely not. Unlike other incubators that require you to give equity in exchange for funding or advice, our goal at the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator is to work with you in a myriad of ways that don't require giving up equity. Give us a call and let's chat.

 

Q. I'm worried about someone stealing my idea. How can you help me protect my innovation?

We have safeguards in place to prevent your ideas from being stolen.  Our team and all Incubator mentors are contractually bound to keep your ideas under wraps and to protect them.

 

Q. I need help with funding. How can the Incubator assist me with this and do I have to be a client?

You do not need to be an Incubator client to receive funding assistance. For qualifying companies, we provide access to early-stage capital through our global network of investors and local organizations such as High Altitude Investors (HAI), an investor network based in Colorado Springs. Q. I’m an investor interested in early stage, high growth companies. How can I access Incubator companies?

You can also contact the High Altitude Investors (HAI), a Southern Colorado community of accredited investors, who seek private investment opportunities, largely in Southern Colorado and the Front Range. The HAI angel forum facilitates the introduction of pre-screened entrepreneurs to potential investors through presentations and other mechanisms and venues.

 

Q. I need help with marketing but don’t require additional Incubator services at this time. Can you help me on a project basis?

Absolutely. We help numerous clients on an à la carte project basis. Whether you need help with a marketing plan, campaign, or specific marketing piece, we’re ready and able to assist you . We do not charge by the hour; instead, we prefer to work on a fixed price. Our rates are well below the market standard. Here’s how we work on a project basis: we take your request, break it down into actionable items, tell you how long each item will take to complete, and what the cost will be.

Q. If I’m not an Incubator member, can I still attend your events?

Yes, non-members are welcome to attend our workshops, networking events, and other venues. Some events have a nominal entry fee; entry fees vary depending on the event. All Incubator events are free for Incubator clients.

 

Q. What’s the Startup Factory?

The Startup Factory is a free workspace where entrepreneurs can work, meet and learn from other entrepreneurs. The Factory is furnished with desks, chairs, and whiteboards, which are free for qualifying entrepreneurs to use.   Hours:  Monday-Friday 9 am to 5 pm.  Once you become a Startup Factory member (which takes a few minutes), you can use the Startup Factory on a drop-in basis.
